The Warriors will meet a struggling Central Stags side on Friday and
will look to seal a spot in the semi finals with a win. The Warriors are in
second spot in Group A, with the Chennai Super Kings in first spot. Both teams
have won their first two games and are on four points each but the team from
Chennai has a higher net run rate, mainly due to their massive 97 run victory
against the Wayamba elevens on Wednesday.

The Warriors won their first game against the Wayamba elevens and in the next
game, a crucial encounter, overcame the Australian T20 champions the Victoria
Bushrangers. That game can prove to be very important in the end, to determine
the second spot as the Chennai Super Kings are riding high and are favorites
to top the group.
The Warriors' top order batsmen look to be in prime form. Captain Davey Jacobs had a start in the first game, but didn't convert it but played a
very attacking and outstanding knock against Victoria. His innings gave them
a great start which eventually helped them to get past the 150 mark. They chased
down a middling target with relative ease against Wayamba and then defended
a middling target against the Bushrangers.
Mark Boucher too has played two very good knocks. He helped them finished
the game quickly against the Wayamba elevens with a quick fire 40 and then in
the next game played a responsible knock to anchor the innings when the Warriors
looked to be losing their way in the middle after a great start.
Juan Theron is also in great form and is also the leading wicket taker
with six wickets, along with Ravichandran Ashwin of the Super Kings. The medium
pacer has been good in both the beginning of the innings and also in the death
overs. He picked up two crucial wickets in the opening over against the Wayamba
elevens and in the second game he bowled in the end and captured three vital
wickets to contain the Victoria batsmen successfully.
The Central Stags have lost both their games. They lost the first game badly
but came close in their next game against Victoria. They lost the game with
two balls to go and would have won it if it weren't for a great innings from
Aaron Finch.
They have to try and pick up early wickets against the Western Warriors
to keep them quiet and will again beexpecting a good innings from Jamie How
to even have a slight chance of winning this game.
