The
first match of day three will see Chevrolet Warriors take on the South Australian Redbacks in Hyderabad, at 16:00 IST or 10:30 GMT. This encounter
is expected to be another thriller like the first match of this tournament.
Chevrolet Warriors beat mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match
of the Champions League Twenty20 2011. It was a sensational win. Batting
first RCB put up a big score. The target was 173 for warriors and at last they
made it in the last ball of the innings. This match shows that they have a very
strong batting line up, especially their depth of batting.

Even the tail-enders can contribute for them so it will be a very tough task for
Redbacks to stop their batsman. If the top order of warriors fails then they still
can make and chase a very good total. Both prince and Botha have shown it in the
previous match. Prince scored 74 runs from only 55balls while they both contributed
91 runs only in 8.1 overs.
Warriors must improve their bowling. They gave too many runs in the first match
though they got rid of Chris Gayle very early in the innings. Their opponent
does not have any big name in their squad but any one can be a hero in Twenty20
cricket. If someone gets going it becomes very difficult to stop him.
On the other hand, Redbacks is a very new and young team. Even last year they
were unable to qualify for Champions League. Redbacks have only one big name Shaun
Tait, with his immense pace he has the ability to do anything.
There are very few batmen in the world who is not afraid of speedy ball. Tait
can bowl with great speed one after another. Redbacks have a specific plan for
this tournament. They have come up with 3 spinners- Nathan Lyon who has recently
got 5 wickets in his Test debut against Sri Lanka, left arm orthodox spinner
Aaron O' Brien and leg spinner Adil Rashid. This trio can make the difference
as it is a sub-continental track. They also have an all-rounder Callum Ferguson
who has played 30ODIs for Australia. Redbacks will be expecting a lot from him.
Warriors have shown their power in the first match. They always have "can
do" attitude. On paper they are very strong and so in field. So, it would
be a very difficult job for Redbacks to defeat the Warriors. All they need is
an upset.
