The fourth game of the tri-series in Zimbabwe will see the hosts take on India at Harare. Both, India and Zimbabwe go into this game with four points
each, whereas Sri Lanka has five points from their couple of games after having
lost the first one.
What is good for the Indians is that they know the opposition and have sussed
out the conditions in the country as well. However, what they will need to guard
again will be the pitch at Harare, which will be quicker than the one at Bulawayo,
which will mean that there is a good chance that the Indian batsmen could be
attacked with a lot of short bowling.
Click for Live Score Card of Zimbabwe Vs IndiaRohit Sharma has been in an obvious good touch and will look to make the most
out of the form that he is in. He will want to convert his two centuries into
something more and that will mean that the side will benefit from that. However,
more importantly, it is the opening pair of Murali Vijay and Dinesh Karthik, who will need to do something about their batting. The pitches
have been a struggle for both, and there is much more expected from the two
of them, especially if they want to make Gambhir-Sehwag make a dash for it when
they came back.
The bowling could be a tricky question. In the previous game the Indians had
gone in with an extra spinner and it worked for them, but this is a different
pitch. Going in with only two fast bowlers could be an issue and the Indians
could have to pay for it. On the other hand, the fast bowling has barely been
anything to write home about and the struggle has been there for everyone to
see. Abhimanyu Mithun and Pankaj Singh are the two reserve bowlers, none
of whom will inspire too much confidence for the captain, especially not at
this stage given the spinners are bowling well and doing a good job.
For Zimbabwe, they had a good game and a patchy one, which one must say, all
the teams have had. Unfortunately for them, the issue is that they started off
well but lost rather badly to Sri Lanka, which means that the side will need
to make a big comeback if they want to get back to their winning way.
I expect another fast bowler to join their line-up for the India game
