Batting great Brian Lara, who has often been on a collision course with
the Caribbean cricket stablishment, has taken another potshot at the West Indies
Board by questioning their integrity and efficiency.
Lara made the remarks against the WICB at a function to inaugurate a cancer
treatment centre named after him in Mucurapo.
According to 'Trinidad Express' newspaper, Lara commended the
persons and organisations involved in the construction and management of the
centre for "their teamwork, integrity and use of technology" but said
these had "missed the Cricket Board".
The 38-year-old Lara's retirement from international cricket
at the recent World Cup had surprised his fans since he had previously
indicated that he would continue to play Test Cricket.
The Brian Lara Cancer Treatment Centre at Fitzblackman Drive
is the first of its kind in Trinidad and Tobago and the Commonwealth Caribbean.
