Switzerland had a good start to their World Cup ambitions when they managed a
win against Spain in their first encounter in the group. The goal came in the
fifty-second minute and was provided courtesy of Gelson Fernades; it was only
Switzerland's second strike on target out of the whole match. The goal clearly
shocked the Spanish team who had thought that the Swiss would prove to be a relatively
easy first game. The Swiss will now need to build on their win and so they will
be hoping to get something from this next game against Chile.
Chile played Honduras for their first game and they managed to win this 0-1. This
was Chile's first win in this stage of the competition in fifty years so as you
can imagine the fans were delighted. The goal was provided by Jean Beausejour
in the thirty fourth minute. The goal came with a bit of luck but few would doubt
that Chile deserved the win; they really played their hearts out. It will
be interesting to see what Chile can do with their passion when they play the
Swiss.
This 2010 Group H encounter between Chile and Switzerland promises to provide
plenty of excitement. Group H is turning out to be an interesting one and both
teams can be credited with generating a lot of this. Make sure you watch what
