Former Test wicketkeeper Kiran More today resigned as Secretary of Baroda
Cricket Association (BCA), clearing the way for his joining the Indian
Cricket League (ICL) recently launched by Zee Television.
More announced his decision at the BCA's Management Commitee meeting here today,
which was convened in the wake of a BCCI letter asking its members and
players to disassociate from unapproved tournaments.
The Committe accepted More's resignation and thanked him for
his contribution in the development of Baroda cricket.
More, former chief selector, said the decision to quit the
BCA was a "painful" one.
"I had my personal reasons to join ICL. I am joining from
tomorrow. It was a painful decision because I have closely worked with the BCA
and the BCCI in various capacities." Meanwhile, the BCA has decided to
form various committees for organising the One-Day International match between
India and Australia here on October 11.
