Dave Nosworthy, the New Zealand 'A' and Canterbury coach whose has reportedly
applied for the job of coaching the Indian cricket team, has pleaded ignorance
about the news.
South African Nosworthy said he knew nothing about the BCCI's shortlist but said
that his London-based agent might have put in his application with the Indian
Board.
"I haven't heard anything from anyone but I do have a
representative in London who looks after these things for me, and acts on my
behalf - that's how I got the Canterbury job," he said.
"Right now I'm just enjoying my time with Canterbury and
NZC. It's news to me that people are talking about me in India," he was
quoted as saying in New Zealand media.
Former Sri Lanka coach John Dyson and Queensland's
Terry Oliver have also been mentioned as contenders for the post left vacant
by Australian Greg Chappell's departure after the World Cup.
Another South African Graham Ford, who was offered the job
last month, turned it down.
