England captain Michael Vaughan won the toss and elected to field against
India in the first cricket Test beginning at Lord's here today.
India left out Yuvraj Singh in the playing XI, which comprises a three-pronged
pace attack with Zaheer Khan, RP Singh and S Sreesanth.
For England, Stuart Broad -- especially after
his 5 for 76 for England Lions in the warm-up match against India -- was unlucky
to miss out on a Lord's debut and instead, it was Chris Tremlett who
earned his first Test cap.
England went into the match with pacers James Anderson
and Ryan Sidebottom.
