New Zealand pacer James Franklin and Jacob Oram ripped through the
English batting order as England were two down at 30 in the 9th overs.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss put England in to
bat in the crucial Group C match at the Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia on Friday.
The match was belayed by half an hour due to overnight rain
but began on a bright note for the Kiwis when pacer James Franklin induced an
edge off Edmund Joyces bat, which was accepted by Brendon McCullum
behind the stumps.
England lost its second wicket as Ian Bell on 5 runs.
Skipper Michael Vaughan and Kevin Pietersen are on the crease
at this moment.
