According to the chief executive of the English cricket board, the board was happy
with the release of the schedule which allowed the English side to play at all
the big venues. This, according to the board officials will help the English side
and the fans who would look to travel to the venues to ensure that they can follow
their side.
The last time that England had played an ODI series in India, they were to play
seven matches. However, the series had to be curtailed after five matches only
when the terror attacks had stuck Mumbai. India had won the series 5-0, giving
the opponents no chance whatsoever.
This will be followed by the series against Pakistan, which will be
played at the UAE. Earlier, there was some confusion about the venue of the
series with Giles Clarke claiming that the series will be played in Sri
Lanka but that seems to have been put to rest with this announcement.
In the series between England and Pakistan, there will be a set of three
Test matches, four one-day international matches and three T20Is. The matches
will be played at Dubai and Abu Dhabi respectively. The exact dates have yet
to be decided.
Against Sri Lanka, England will play two Tests in March next year but the exact
schedule for the tour matches is yet to be released.
