England cricket team captain Andrew Flintoff has taken
responsibility his team's disastrous Ashes cricket tour but denied the burden
of captaincy was a reason for the slump in his form, sources said.
"I knew when I took this job on that it (captaincy) was a big job. It's
something that I wanted to do. It's something that I am enjoying doing. My own
personal form, I can't blame that on the captaincy or having the captaincy,"
Flintoff was quoted as saying by an English newspaper here today.
Flintoff, who was the hero of last year's success, could manage only 10 wickets
at an average of 42.50 and 158 runs at an average of 22.57.
England are now at the verge of becoming the first team in
over 80 years to lose an Ashes series 5-0 as Australia has taken a huge
lead of 4-0.
