The cricket board brought little relief for the fans of the Bengal Tiger
by declaring that the thumb injury suffered by Sourav Ganguly in the second
one-dayer against Sri Lanka was not serious.
Ganguly is available for World Cup selection, the BCCI
said.
"It is a minor injury and we had a precautionary x-ray
done. He is very much available for selection for the World Cup," BCCI
Secretary Niranjan Shah said.
The former Indian captain injured his thumb while attempting
a catch of Mahela Jayawardene at slip.
The 15-member squad for the World Cup is to be selected in
Mumbai today.
