In India vs ACT XI match Virender Sehwag scores 113 of 78 balls

Virender Sehwag was the star show for an Indian batting lineup that flayed the ACT XI attack to all parts of the ground in their recently concluded 3 day match up against the ACT XI line up. The flamboyant dasher from Najafgarh made his intentions clear from the very first over itself and despite being dropped twice on 16 and 91, there were never any brakes applied to the Sehwag bandwagon as he blasted his way into reckoning for the upcoming India Australia test match at Perth on the 16th.

Virender SehwagAfter a poor first innings show, Sehwag took his chances brilliantly and plundered some wayward bowling by the ACT XI line up. Sehwag was particularly harsh on Ash Pereira and Adam Richards who were hammered to all parts of the ground in a delightful performance by the India discard. Virender Sehwag reached his half century in just 38 balls and after getting a lucky reprieve on 91, went on to make a fine century which would boost his chances of cracking into the India test cricket team before the third India Australia cricket test match. On the other hand, Dinesh Karthik was steadiness personified as he helped himself to an impressive 97 who would put him in reckoning ahead of the third test match in Perth. The TamilNadu batsman looked at ease on a slow wicket and the Indian cricket think tank will be counting their options for the third test match.

This knock will most likely propel Virender Sehwag to Indian test team selection ahead of the struggling Yuvraj Singh who struggled for forms and runs once again in this test. Yuvraj and Wasim Jaffer look to be the most likely casualties of this test and it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise if they make way for Karthik and Sehwag in the third test. India are currently down 2-0 to Australia in the four match Border-Gavaskar series and millions of Indian cricket fans following the game via print and online media through live cricket scorecards, online video streams and online streaming commentary will be hoping that the Indian test cricket team can register a comeback on the lines of their famous victory over Australia seven years back in India to reduce the deficit.
