Indian cricket legend, Kapil Dev, today said he was against Team India's
idea of experimenting for the sake of losing.
Talking to media persons, Kapil Dev said, "I never want
experimentation for losing. If you experiment and lose, I won't like it. If
you win, then it's okay, and you can keep on experimenting."
When asked to comment on Sourav Ganguly as an opener,
he said, "If not now, then when?"
Kapil also urged the media not to sow seeds of confusion over
the captaincy issue before the World Cup by asking whether Ganguly could be
a candidate for the hot seat.
"Selectors are doing their job. Let us support them,"
Kapil said.
Kapil's response followed after a journalist asked whether
the only World Cup winning Indian captain wanted to see Ganguly as the team
skipper.
"Let's not create confusion over captaincy. Let us be
all Indians. If India wins, Sachin, Sourav, Rahul and each Indian wins,"
he said.
"We want to prepare a good team for the World Cup. If
we win the World Cup, it will be a win for every player," Kapil said.
