Australian speedster Brett Lee has been ruled out of the cricket World Cup
giving a big jolt to Australia's hopes of claiming a third title in a row.
According to the sources, the pace spearhead suffered an ankle
injury during training in New Zealand 10 days ago.
Cricket Australia has written to the ICC Technical Committee
to receive approval for Brett Lee to be replaced in the selected squad of 15
by New South Wales fast bowler Stuart Clark, in accordance with the relevant
ICC rules.
Chairman of Australia's National Selection Panel Andrew
Hilditch said it was a major blow for Australia's hopes of winning the title.
Lee's injury will take three months time for full healing, they added.
