A day after India won the first Twenty20 World Cup in Johannesburg, former
Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev described Mahendra Singh Dhoni
as "fearless" and the shortest format of the game as a "big hit."
Kapil who was here to promote a brand congratulated the team for its victory over
Pakistan and said "it is one moment which we can never forget." While
talking about Twenty20 cricket, he chose to compare it with a Bollywood flick.
"Twenty20 (format) is like a film," Kapil said. "It is all upon
the people to accept it and make it a hit," he told mediapersons.
"Twenty20 is a big hit," said Kapil who is part of
the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL).
"Twenty20 format packaged in three-hours is good. It has
made the game more enjoyable," he added.
Kapil was all praises for Mahendra Singh Dhoni who captained
India to the World Cup victory in the finals aginst arch rivals Pakistan.
"He is young and fearless, ready to battle it out,"
Kapil said, adding he found Dhoni to be filled with lot of `josh' (energy).
"Earlier (before the Twenty20 World Cup) there were no
expectations (from Dhoni). But now expectations will rise. We have to see if
he can live up to these expectations," Kapil said.
