India grappled with more injury worries ahead of their one day cricket series
with Bangladesh as young Manoj Tiwary hurt his shoulder during the
team's first practice session here today.
Tiwary, the prolific Bengal batsman who is on his first tour with the senior
team, suffered the injury on his right shoulder when he dived full length during
a fielding session.
Captain Rahul Dravid, however, said that it was not
a serious injury.
"He got injured while pactising but it is not a serious
injury," Dravid told reporters.
But Tiwary did not further part in the net session after hurting
his shoulder. Physio John Gloster attended to him and the Bengal player
was given the ice treatment.
Earlier, in the conditioning camp back home Sachin Tendulkar
had twisted his ankle while Dravid was hit on his nose by a Rudra Pratap Singh bouncer.
The Indians are scheuled to play the first of the three one-dayers on Thursday
followed by two other matches on May 12 and 15. The two-match Test series will
begin at Chittagong from May 18.
