There has been no complaint on the bowling action of Pakistan speedster
Shoaib Akhtar from the Indian team to the Cricket Board, according to a
top BCCI official.
"We have not received any complaints from any Indian team member or management
(on Akhtar's bowling action)," BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah today
said.
He also said International Cricket Council is the right authority to take action
in case any doubts emerge about the legality of the bowling action of Akhtar.
"Our stand is the same as the ICC's. No bowler's action has been cleared
for life and there should be periodic tests on bowlers whose actions have come
under the scanner earlier," he added.
Shah was responding to news reports today that Akhtar's bowling
action during the opening Test between India and Pakistan at Delhi's
Ferozshah Kotla had not passed muster with the home team.
India won the match by six wickets and Akhtar was the most
successful bowler for Pakistan with six wickets to his credit.
