New Zealand and Sri Lanka shared The National Bank ODI
Series after the fifth and final match between the sides at Hamilton was abandoned
due to rain without a ball delivered.
The teams also drew the test and Twenty20 series last month, with the 50-over
contest now shared at two games apiece.
Earlier, Kiwi captain Stephen Fleming won the toss and
elected to bowl first in pursuit of a series win at Seddon Park.
Home official Billy Bowden was due to stand in his 100th
ODI, while veteran Sri Lanka all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya was to have
played his 375th ODI, a world record.
The Blackcaps now head to Australia for the tri-series against
the world champions and England.
