The one-day tie between India A and South Africa A scheduled
to be held today at Motera has been delayed due to a wet outfield following
heavy rains.
The umpires will be inspecting the field at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera
later in the day for the first of the three one-day cricket matches which was
to begin this morning.
Dhiraj Prasana, stadium curator said some 70 labourers have been employed
in the playing arena to dry out the outfield.
Overcast conditions and intermittent rains during the past five days have prevented
the field from drying out.
The next two matches of the one-day series between the two teams are at Vadodara
(September 28) and Rajkot (September 30).
