Australia cricket skipper Ricky Ponting became the seventh batsman in One
Day International cricket history to join the 10,000 run-club.
Ponting achieved the milestone while scoring 91 runs against
South Africa in St. Kitts on Saturday in a World Cup match.
The dashing Aussie batsman now joins six other cricketing greats
in the list headed by Indias master batsman Sachin Tendulkar,
who was the first to reach the milestone in ODI history back in 2001.
Others in the 10,000 club are Rahul Dravid, Sourav
Ganguly, Inzamam ul Haq, Sanath Jayasuriya and West Indies
Brian Lara.
