Dhammika Prasad is on cloud nine having scalped Sachin Tendulkar, the 'greatest'
batsmen of modern era, on his debut.Prasad, who replaced Nuwan Kulasekara,
accounted for three batsmen today as the Indian innings folded for just 249 against
Sri Lanka on the opening day of the third and final cricket Test.
"They (India) have very good batting line up. Actually one of the greatest batsmen is
Sachin (Tendulkar). It was really big moment for me when I got that wicket. I
am really happy," he said at the end of the day's play. The young paceman
said he grew in confidence after dismissing in-form Virender Sehwag, who
hit a double century in the second Test in Galle. "In form man Sehwag
has batted really well. I was a bit nervous at that time (opening spell). But
when I got that wicket I gained confidence and that is why I got three wickets,"
he said. "I really enjoyed bowling at this wicket. Actually I got confidence
and that is very important thing," he added. Prasad also thanked his
skipper Mahela Jayawardene and senior players for overcoming the overwhelming
moment of bowling on debut. "Actually they gave me more confidence.
They said don't feel that this is your first game. Bowl like normal and don't
get panic. This what they said," he said.
