The Indian cricket team was hit by an injury scare ahead of the second Test against
England with Sourav Ganguly missing the practice session because
of a stiff back.
The elegant left-hander, who was seen clutching his back while batting even during
the first Test at the Lord's, did not take part in the practice session which
was held at the ECB's national academy.
The team management did not elaborate on the injury but sources said that it
was not serious.
Ganguly came at the nets but did not bat and just strolled
around.
Later speaking to the media, Yuvraj said Ganguly had a stiff
back and the team physio would be the right person to speak about his condition.
After rain spoiled their practice plans at Trent Bridge, the
venue for the second Test starting on Friday, the Indian team drove to ECB cricket
academy at Loughborough University which has a state-of-the-art indoor facility.
Yuvraj said that he was eagerly waiting to get a chance to
play in the Test series.
"I would love to play but it is something that is not in my hands. It
is upto the team management to decide," he said.
Asked about the failure of the Indian batsmen in the first
Test, Yuvraj said that the conditions became tough after day one.
"The first day was okay. But suddenly the weather changed and the conditions
were tough after that," he said.
