Nimbus today said it has signed an agreement with private DTH
operator TataSky for telecasting the India-West Indies cricket
series on its platform.
"We have signed an agreement with TataSky for telecasting
the cricket series on the DTH platform," an official of Nimbus said.
The telecast of Nimbus' sports channel on private DTH platforms looked uncertain
after the latter showed reluctance to subscribe to Nimbus on apprehensions that
public broadcaster Prasar Bharati would get the live feed of the matches which
it would telecast on its free-to-air DD DTH platform.
However, after orders from the Delhi High Court, Prasar
Bharati has been directed to carry a seven-minute delayed feed. Also, the
court directed Prasar Bharati not to sell the feed received from Nimbus to any
private DTH platform, thus clearing the way for rights holder Nimbus.
