Dismissing uncertainty over the fitness of some players', skipper Rahul Dravid said
that all 15 going to the West Indies for the World Cup were fit.
'I am happy with the pacers and I don't think we are taking any unfit player
to the World Cup,' said Dravid at press conference here, hours before the team
leaves for the Caribbean.
Team coach Greg Chappell supported Dravid and particularly
backed Irfan Pathan, who has lately been struggling with form and fitness.
'We expect Irfan to be fully fit and once he strikes form he will do well,'
he said.
Dravid pointed out that Pathan would get enough opportunities
during the World Cup, starting March 11.
'Irfan gives us a lot of options. He will get more bowling opportunities,'
he said.
Dravid, however, pointed out that there was no pressure on
him as a captain and the 'hunger to do will be the same as before'.
He said that no match would be easy in the 16-nation tournament.
