Michael Vaughan has been ruled out of Englands next two one-day internationals
with a torn hamstring.
The captain suffered the injury in the win over New Zealand and he missed
Fridays defeat to Australia.
The 32-year-old will now sit out the games in Adelaide, against New Zealand
on Tuesday and Australia on Friday.
Star all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will continue as captain until Vaughans
expected return against the Black Caps in Perth on 30 January.
If England then failed to make the final, Vaughan would make just three more
one-day international appearances ahead of the World Cup.
606 DEBATE: How will England fare in Adelaide?
He did not appear for England at all in 2006 because of prolonged injury problems.
He has had four knee operations in his career.
Flintoff captained England well on Friday, when they made Australia sweat all
the way before overhauling a dismal score of 155 in Brisbane.
But he has now led England to just one victory in eight one-day internationals
as captain.
