Keeping his eye glued on the World Cup trophy, South African captain Graeme Smith said that the new World No 1 tag will not distract his team from the
immediate and important goal of winning the event.
The World Cup will be played in the Caribbean from March 13.
"We are pleased with our achievement, but we will not
allow this to detract us from our preparations for the World Cup", Smith
said. "Winning the World Cup is our main goal at this stage," he said.
The South Africa team was elevated to the top of ODI charts
after Australia lost its long held coveted status after its fourth consecutive
loss.
