Indian paceman Rudra Pratap Singh, who picked his maiden five-wicket haul
at Lord's, said useful tips from his senior colleague Zaheer Khan helped
him to bowl a right line and length in English conditions.
"Zaheer Khan is my senior and has been giving me a lot of help in how to
bowl in English conditions," said RP, who returned 16.3-3-59-5 on the penultimate
day of the first cricket Test.
Zaheer, who played for an English county last season when he
was out of Indian team, also complimented RP's efforts from the other end by
claiming 4 for 79.
RP Singh said his key to success was to bowl in the right areas.
"The plan was to bowl in the right areas and slip in a couple of bouncers.
As it happened, two of the wickets (Paul Collingwood and Ian Bell)
came from bouncers, and the rest from good-length balls," he said.
Asked where exactly he improved in recent years, the left-arm pacer said "I
have improved my pace, and line and length since I have been in the Indian team."
