Abominable selections, awkward selection problems, series hanging on a knife''s
edge, rain forecast, et all. It is all happening on the eve of one of the most
important Tests in recent times. For the viewers, this is a peiod of reverse swing
when we, as the batsmen, are not sure which way will the ball swing, in this case,
which way will the match swing.
India have a tricky decision to make whether or not to go in with 5 bowlers.
One thing is certain that Wasim Jaffer will be sitting out. So now the Indians
have to decide whether or not they want to shuffle around with there middle
order. That decision will in turn decide if the Indians will pick Harbhajan
Singh or Dinesh Karthik for the last match. If they decide to pick Harbhajan,
either Pathan or Dravid will be pushed up to open. The other problem that the
Indians are facing is the completely mistmed shot of the selectors. They have
picked the team for the ODIs at the worst possible time and the sacking of Ganguly
is a shocker. It must have been a big setback for the person who has scored
the second most number of runs in ODIs in the last year for India and has been
a batting mainstay for the team. However, they have to put those things behind
and concentrate on this big big match.
Australia perhaps has never been under such pressure in quite a few years and
that is pretty much testified by the uncharacteristic decision of Ponting of
not revealing the final eleven today. He is keeping his cards close to his chest
and so is Kumble, who has not given a hint either. Ponting too has a tricky
choice to make. He will be in a dilemma as to whether he should pick Tait or
Hogg, both of whom have been quite unimpressive so far. Matthew Hayden is set
to comeback which means that Chris Rogers will have to wait to play his second
test. The rest of the squad is going to be very much the same.
The stage is set for a titanic battle between two huge teams and the result
of the match is something that everybody is waiting for, with bated breath.
The action begins at 00:00 GMT and we will have it all LIVE!!!
