Australia need to score 196 runs to win this game thanks to Duckworth-Lewis method. This is a 50 over game and since it was reduced to a 45 over match, the Indians lost out on a few scoring opportunities. The Indians lost a few late wickets which again reduced the target (it could have been much more had they kept the wickets intact).
The Indian batsmen failed to present the ideas in the middle that their skipper had in his mind at the toss. The Aussie bowlers were spot on right from the word go and kept the Indians on the backfoot till the very end. Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir looked good for big ones but both of them fell quickly to see India back in doldrums. Dhoni struggled yet again and it was only Harbhajan Singh''s cameo in the end which propelled the Indian score to some sort of respectability. It will be interesting to see how the bowlers approach this game and there shouldn''t be any reason why they would bowl poorly.
