Mumbai Indians will play the Deccan Chargers in the 59th game of the Indian Premier League this season. The two sides are so differently poised that they
will be playing for different reasons. Of course, both the sides would want to
win the game but the difference is that while the Mumbai Indians will like to
win this one to enhance their chances to making it to the top two in the points
table, the Deccan Chargers will look to win this one to ensure that they can bow
out of the tournament with some pride.

That has been the problem this season. The Mumbai Indians have been
too powerful despite their unexpected loss to the Punjab side, and the Chargers
have played so badly that it is not even funny. Kumar Sangakkara has
struggled to make too many runs in the tournament and his lack of consistency
has hurt the team like no other. Unfortunately for the team, even Cameron White
has not scored too many runs and had to be replaced by JP Duminy in the playing
eleven.
Fortunately for the Deccan Chargers, Duminy has shown signs of getting
some form which means that the side will look to ensure that they can get to
a decent score. What will be interesting to see is that the Mumbai Indians will
need to recover from their previous game loss where the batting was so poor
that it collapsed to 87 allout against Punjab while chasing a total of 160 odd.
There is always a problem with the way the Mumbai Indians have played and not
lost more than one game in a row, but they will now know how to overcome difficult
situations like the one they find themselves in.
The Mumbai Indians will be worried a bit about their bowling. They have four
decent bowlers, but it is the fifth bowling option that is a worry for them.
The problem is that both, Kieron Pollard and Andrew Symonds have not
been able to contain the bowlers and that has led tothe side leaking runs during
the time that they have bowled. It could be the time to look into that aspect
of their cricket, even as the two sides look to clinch this game.
