The Deccan Chargers will take on the Mumbai Indians in the 27th game of
the Indian Premier League at Hyderabad. The game will be played at the
Rajiv Gandhi International stadium there and will see the two sides fight
it out for a win.
Mumbai Indians are clearly the in-form team. They have played five games and
except for the one in which they fielded really badly against the Kochi Tuskers,
their performance has been one to savour. The Mumbai Indians started
off with a win over the Delhi Daredevils, before moving on to beat the Royal
Challengers Bangalore, Pune Warriors and the Chennai Super Kings. Incidentally,
the Super Kings are the defending champions and the manner in which the Mumbai
Indians overcame their batting and the issues with the dew was just champion-like.

On the other hand, the Chargers started off poorly. They went down to the Rajasthan
Royals in the first game and the Kolkata Knight Riders in the second one. Their
first win came against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at home, which also broke
the record of not having won a single game at home, before they were beaten again
- this time by the Kings XI Punjab. Finally, they won their previous game against
the Delhi Daredevils to have two wins from their five games.
Mumbai Indians rely heavily on their batting. And why not, they have a batting
line-up to rely on. they have the batsmen who can bail them out of any trouble,
as Rohit Sharma showed in their game against the Super Kings. Rohit scored a
superb 87 off less than 50 ball to guide his side to a competitive score after
both, Sachin Tendulkar and R Satish, the other opener, had failed to
get a move on.
On the other hand, the bowling is also balanced. Abu Nechim is the latest addition
to the side who has got things rolling for the team with the help of some pace
but he needs to control the line and the length. With Malinga and Munaf bowling
the way that they are and the rest of the side supporting them well, it is going
to be difficult to overcome them. Lately, Harbhajan Singh also added to their
list with a five wicket haul against the Super Kings.
The Chargers need to get in an extra pace bowler in place of a spinner and
Pragyan Ojha may sit out.
