Host India have got their pride back which they lost in England. Many people
started showing doubt about their potential. So, Team India would be
trying to continue their performance against the Caribbean side as well. Like
"India Vs England" series there will no Harbhajan Singh. Ashwin has
taken his place.
Pace bowler Praveen Kumar and R P Singh are also out of the test squad.
New sensation pace bowler Varun Aaron, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and
spinner Rahul Sharma and Pragyan Ojha will be the bowling attack for Team India.
When it comes to bating India have always been strong and they have selected
a really powerful batting line up for the first test match as well. Local boy
Virender Sehwag, Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh are
in the list. So, there is no doubt that Team India have tried to make their
squad as powerful as possible, though MS Dhoni is still not sure.
On the other hand, the Caribbean side may not be strong like India on paper, but
they are not a bad team at all. They have recently beaten host Bangladesh in the
Test series by 1-0, and their tour of Bangladesh ended with their win in the test,
so they will be in the mood of playing test cricket. This could be an extra advantage
for the Caribbean side.
Their bowlers and batsmen will be trying hard and soul to play their best cricket
against Team India. They will be mostly dependent on their batsmen Darren Sammy, Adrian Barath, Samules and senior batsman Chanderpaul. They are good
enough to challenge the Indian bowling line up. When it comes to their bowling,
they have bowlers like Fidel Edwards, Kemar Roach and spinner Bishoo.
Team India is now on fire. Their confidence is now sky high. It will be very tough
for the Caribbean side to beat or compete against Team India at their home. Indian
senior batsman Laxman has already expressed that they will be trying their best
to reach number 1 position once again. The Caribbean must play their highest level
of cricket.
