This is the second ODI of the series between West Indies and Pakistan.
The first ODI was also played at the same ground at Gros Islet in St. Lucia and
was won by the Pakistani side to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
This game will be played at the St. Lucia ground too, and the home team will be
hoping for some kind of a turnaround.

The first ODI saw the West Indian side bat first and after a slow start were able
to get to only 221 in their 50 overs. It was not a surprise because the side did
not have too many big hitters of the ball and in the end, the team was left with
too much to score in the last few overs.
The problem was that on a pitch which was easy for batting against the pace bowlers
but helped the spinners a lot, the West Indian side had only one quality spinner
and three pace bowlers. The Pakistanis had gone the other way; they took two seamers
but had three pace bowlers in their rank.
For this game, the side will hope that the game gets played on another track
and not this one, given that they rely of the faster men. These include the
likes of Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy and Andre Russell. The three of them
will look to ensure that they can now get something out of the pitch for themselves
in this second game of the series to be able to pull the side back.
One also thought that the issue that the side faced while batting against the
team was that they were too slow and did not have the batting line-up to take
on the spinners. They failed miserably in the middle order and could barely score
much with the 30 overs from the spinners costing only 100.
The Pakistanis will be pleased with their performance. They had gone into the
game with three youngsters as well; Mohammad Salman, Junnaid Khan and
Hammad Azam. Salman had a good day behind the stumps after he replaced the awful
Kamran Akmal, while Junnaid Khan bowled his ten overs reasonably well
and while he did not get a wicket, he looked good with his ability to swing
the ball around. Azam did not get a chance in the first game.
West Indies will look to get back into the series and make it 1-1.
