The 44th game of the Indian Premier league will see the Mumbai Indians
take on the Pune Warriors. The game will be a home game for the Pune Warriors
and will be played at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, which is not too
far away from where the Mumbai Indians are camping right now.
The good news for the Mumbai Indians is that they are back to the top
of the points table. They have been able to win six of their eight games, which
makes it 12 points for them, followed by 11 for Rajasthan and 10 each for Chennai
and Kolkata.

Mumbai Indians will go into this game with much confidence, having just won their
previous game against the Kings XI Punjab. They had gone down to the Rajasthan
Royals before that but that does not take anything away from the fact that they
are one of the best sides in the tournament.
The Pune Warriors, on the other hand, have nothing going right for them since
their first two wins. After those two wins, the side has lost six in a row, which
is probably a record and now with four points from eight games, they need to win
all their remaining six games to be able to overcome the side's travails. Another
loss will put them in a doubt over qualifying for the next stage and that will
make it difficult for the side's owners.
The biggest news that has come through is that the Pune Warriors have signed up
with Sourav Ganguly for the remainder of the IPL games which makes it interesting
for the sides. It will mean that Ganguly will replace one of the youngsters in
the side and also try and get the team out of the mess that they find themselves
in.
It will be interesting to see how the Warriors go into the game especially
with the presence of a former captain in the dressing room. Ganguly was the
one who had backed Yuvraj Singh when he was a youngster and the tables
have turned, with Ganguly expecting the same from Yuvraj, the question is whether
that will happen.
The Mumbain Indians will look at their fifth bowler options and may be slightly
unhappy with that. However, they will still go into the game as favourites to
win it.
