Sri Lanka take on South Africa in the third of the five match series away
from home and will look to ensure they can jeep the series alive.
Two games and two defeats for Sri Lanka mean it is their last chance
to keep the series alive and avoid the prospect of yet another series defeat.
South Africa have felt so comfortable in the twin wins that they made wholesale
changes to the squad for the remaining matches, testing younger blood and resting
the senior pros.

It was yet another batting struggle for Sri Lanka before the home side cantered
home with touring bowlers struggling to cause any real trouble. Batting continues
to worry the Lankans as Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara failed
yet again.
Dilshan risks losing his captaincy, such has been his wretched run with the
bat. In Sangakkara is their biggest and technically strongest hope of progressing
well. At the same time, the team management will be full of hope from the young Dinesh Chandimal who has put in impressive performances from time to
time.
Mahela Jayawardene is keen to justify his presence and experience though South
Africa has rarely been a happy hunting place for him - World Cup 2003 being case
in point.
South Africa have rested the experienced Jacques Kallis and have also
awarded paternity leave to ever-consistent Hashim Amla. In addition, pace bowler
Rory Kleinveldt has been ruled out due to injury.
This presents an opportunity for Vernon Philander to impress in the ODIs after
tormenting sides in the longer version of the game. Alviro Petersen and Colin Ingram will look to stake their claim in the long run by putting in impressive
performances in the upcoming matches.
In addition, Morne Morkel and Lonwobo Tsotsobe are hoping to find consistency
in their performances as South Africa aim to build a balanced bowling unit.
The day match will be played at Chevrolet Park in Bloemfontein. The home side
have not lost an ODI at this ground in over nine years. Generally the sides batting
second have fared better here.
