The Board of Control for Cricket in India today announced the 15-member cricket
squad for the 2007 Cricket World Cup, west indies with Virender Sehwag
finding a place in the team despite his recent not so good performances.
The National Selection Committee, along with skipper
Rahul Dravid and cricket coach Greg Chappell, met at the Wankhede
Stadium in Mumbai today to choose the 15-man Indian cricket team for the
Icc Cricket World Cup 2007 which is to be held in the West Indies
during March-April.
The team did not have many surprises as the selectors made
minor changes in the team which was playing the ODIs.
The indian cricket team will assemble in Mumbai on the February
26 and will leave for the West Indies on February 28. India will play two warm-up
matches before its first group game against Bangladesh cricket team on March
17 at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain.
The other two cricket teams in India's group are Sri Lanka
and Bermuda.
The squad: Rahul Dravid (captain), Sachin Tendulkar (vice-captain),
Virender Sehwag Sourav Ganguly, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Kaarthick,
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Zaheer Khan, Ajit Agarkar,
Munaf Patel, Irfan Pathan and Sreesanth.
The national selectors said the same squad with the addition
of Rudra Pratap Singh and Suresh Raina would play the last two
cicket one-dayers against Sri Lanka.
